prize draw for a holiday in South Africa must:

The prize
You may win a 12 day tour of South Africa - packed with adventure, culture,
history and some of the world's most spectacular scenery, as well as a visit
to the vibrant city of Johannesburg. The trip is organised by experienced
South African adventure travel companies Abang Africa Travel and Africa Travel Tips. Abang Africa
offers each year 2 trips for 2 persons. WageIndicator Foundation
adds for each winning couple € 750 air fare. The remainder must be
footed by the winning couples.
Itinerary
12 days/11 nights SOUTH AFRICA &
SWAZILAND
Day to day program
- 1st day: Johannesburg and Soweto (ca. 100km) After your arrival at
Johannesburg Int. Airport, you meet our local representative who explains
the details. You are transferred to your guesthouse or cottage.
- 2nd day: a guided tour into Johannesburg & Soweto. You visit the Apartheid Museum, the Hector Peterson Memorial, the homes of Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu, both Nobel peace prize winners and other famous sites. You may even choose to stay in a Soweto B&B, near the famous sites.
- 3rd day: Johannesburg - Swaziland (ca. 450 km). You leave the former
Transvaal for a drive to Mbabane, capital of the beautiful kingdom of
Swaziland where you spend 2 nights. Here you visit the Swazi market and a
local school where you can meet the children and teachers. Overnight in
Bulembu Lodge.
- 4th day: Swaziland. Hiking time! Choose between various hikes and walks
in the lovely forest village and town of Bulembu. Visit the old cinema or
see the waterfalls. In the evening traditional Swazi dancers from nearby
villages perform for guests at the lodge.
- 5th day: Swaziland - Numbi Gate /Kruger Park (ca. 300 km). You drive to
Numbi gate at the border of Kruger National Park. You stay in luxurious
chalets at FTTSA accredited Phumulani Lodge. Phumulani Lodge is for 100%
owned by Mduli Trust; an initiative of Chief MZ Mduli's. Experience
Phumulani; an extension of tribal culture to uplift standards of living of
local community trough job creation.
- 6th day: Numbi Gate- Hoedspruit area /Kruger Park via Panorama route (ca. 360 km). You visit the historical gold mining city Pilgrim's Rest. You drive the Panorama Route and enjoy highlights as Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes and God's Window. Continue to Orpen Gate near Krugerpark where you spend 2 nights in unique, thatched Treehouse Lodges.
- 7th day: Wildlife. You have your once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience in Big Five territory. Spot the Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard and the Buffalo. If you prefer a guided game drive in open Land Rovers, or want to participate in guided bush walks with rangers and trackers, book at your accommodation.
- 8th day: Hoedspruit area /Kruger Park - Tzaneen (ca. 115 km). Drive on one of South Africa's most beautiful mountain passes, Magoebaskloof. Via the Bosveld Savanna you reach Tzaneen, surrounded by beautiful fruit and tea farms, where you spend 2 nights.
- 9th day: Tzaneen.Today you have time to explore scenic area. You can visit the quaint Tzaneen museum and the Modjadji Cycad Nature Reserve; a unique natural forest in its prehistoric state, named after the dynasty of Rain Queens; Modjadji. You can visit art related projects of the Thusanang Association or have a drink inside a 6000 year old Baobab tree.
- 10th day: Tzaneen - Makhado /Luis Trichardt (ca. 200 km). Continue to Makhado (formerly known as Louis Trichardt), situated in the Limpopo province (formerly known as Transvaal). You stay 2 nights in FTTSA accredited Shiluvari Lakeside Lodge, in thatched chalets; all incorporating elements from local artists and crafters. On site there is a curio shop promoting crafts from the area and sustainable tourism.
- 11th day: Makhado. Relax and explore the area. You may take a guided
local artist tour & visit the small villages nearby. Or you drive to a
Thavha mountain farm at Madi and get to know the Venda and Shangaan
culture. For nature loversthere are many hiking and mountain bike trails
into the Soutpansberg and Hangklip Mountains.
- 12th day: Makhado - Johannesburg (ca. 375 km). Drive to Johannesburg
Int. Airport for your flight home or continue to your next holiday
destination.
Including:
- Meet and Greet,
- Transfer to accommodation in Johannesburg,
- Car hire (S-class: Chico or similar) for 11 days (unlimited km's &
Super Cover insurance),
- Guided Johannesburg & Soweto tour,
- Extended route descriptions.
- 11 nights accommodation: on basis of Bed and Breakfast.
- Accommodation choice: Soweto 2nd night in B&B.
Excluding:
- Entry fees for National Parks and Panorama Route
- Luggage service/portage
- Optional excursions and extra meals
- Flight cost. But WageIndicator Foundation covers € 750 of the tickets
for each winning couple.
- The draw will take place on 1 January 2009, and the two winning couples will be notified by email.
- This prize draw is not open to employees of WageIndicator or partner organisations.
- No cash alternative to the prize can be offered.
- The draw is final.
- If the winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable span of time, the notary reserves the right to draw a new winner.
- Each prize for 2 persons, on the basis of sharing accommodation and car.
- Changes in itinerary can be made (extra cost may apply).
- Valid only between 15th April - 30th September.
