Germany -Fall of wages registered -February 21, 2014

Wages fell by an average of 0.2% in 2013, the first decrease since the 2009 economic crisis, according to the federal statistics office. The calculation was made in terms of the real purchasing power of wages, taking into account inflation. Nominal wages in 2013 were up 1.3% from 2012, but consumer prices rose faster, at 1.5%.
