Note:
1. Coverage of Minimum Wages and Conditions of Employment (General) Order 2010/2011 - The order governs wages and conditions of employment for the general worker (note that shopkeepers are governed under a separate Statutory Instrument, No. 1 of 2010).
2. The Minimum Wages and Conditions of Employment Act applies to all employees (including casual workers) in Zambia, but do not apply to the following categories of employees:
• Employees of the Government of the Republic of Zambia
• Employees of local authority
• Employees who undergo collective bargaining (unionized workers)
• Employees in management positions (as defined under the Industrial Relations Act)
• Employees in a sector for which the Minister, by statutory instrument, has prescribed the minimum wage.
