Definitions
Any worker who has had an employment contract for at least one year with the same employer is entitled to receive a 13th and a 14th month pay. This brings the yearly minimum wage to 16576 Euros. If an employer decides to make 14 annual payments, the monthly minimum wage is 1184 euros. In those cases where workers are not paid 14 minimum wages per year, and employers prefer to pay yearly wages in 12 instalments, the monthly minimum wage is 1381 euros.
Spain has a government-mandated minimum wage. No worker in Spain should be paid less then this minimum pay rate.
Employers in Spain who do not pay the Minimum Wage may be subject to punishment by the government of Spain.
